Senior Oracle DBA
As DBA proactively maintain the databases ( 100GB+ ) local ( Praque ) and remote ( in Netherlands ). DB’s running on linux system and using ASM, data guard. I providing support for payment system for a bank. There is big accent for security, transparent database encryption. One of my tasks is SQL tunning where I working close to developers. This work include system monitoring, back-up monitoring, reactive problem resolution, change management, recovery from h/w failure, maintenance of support documentation. Application database performance review & tuning. Implementing & configurating the databases. Application patches, Troubleshooting, Performance analysis to maximize system availability, capacity planning, resource planning, providing solutions and verifying workarounds.
Big project is migration of databases from NL to CZ and upgrades from 9i to 10g (11g).

Oracle Instructor
I am external Oracle Instructor in Gopas the biggest education company on Czech market. I am doing this “job” because it’s my hobby to teach Oracle.

ORACLE:

Senior system engineer:
As DBA proactively maintain the databases ( from 20GB – 10TB+ ) and Oracle Application for 20 customers in
EMEA region. Mostly from UK, Denmark, Spain. Any customers have single instance but other DB in RAC and 10 or more middle tiers.This work include system monitoring, back-up monitoring, reactive problem resolution, change management, recovery from h/w failure, maintenance of support documentation. Application/database performance review & tuning. Implementing & configurating the databases. Application patches, datafixes and customization in APPS Delivery of complete technical support . Troubleshooting, Performance analysis to maximize system availability, capacity planning, resource planning, providing solutions and verifying workarounds

Oracle Application administrator 11i:
This role include task from areas security, creating groups, users, setting responsibily, priviliges, creating menu, forms, roles, auditing system resources, OAM, managing concurrent programs, reports, profiles, printers, form personalization, Oracle workflow, diagnostics, troubleshooting, etc..

Planning manager:
Engage in customer’s implementation projects while providing technical support and proactive account
management. Build relationships with client to raise the level of customer satisfaction with Oracle OnDemand Service delivery and Oracle products. This part include planning big upgrades DB from 9i to 10g or Application from 11.5.8 to highest version now 11.5.10. So I must communicate with customer about affect to system, users, HW, etc. When customer agree we must find resources and time when this upgrade should be done. There must me coordinated resources on customer’s side and our analysts. Cooperating with other geographical regions on delivering timely solutions.

Remote DBA:
In this role I have worked on demand. There I am part of global team which is switch belong time zones 8hrs US, 8hrs APAC and 8hrs EMEA. There we getting different requests ( like, DB is slow, Workflow doesn’t work, etc ) from customer so we must troubleshoot and find solution which is implemented. During this period I have worked on different systems running on Win, linux or Unix with different configuration in Oracle E-business suite with varion modules ( general ledger, Financial, HR ) and variour products (Discoverer 4 and 10, Reports 6i, Forms 6i, etc )

Technology:

DB 9i-11g, Oracle Streams, RAC, Data Guard, CRS, RMAN, Grid control, ASM, RMAN, Stackpack, Logminer, APEX, TDB, SQL, PLSSQL …. + Those to come.
